Our mission
About us
The opportunity
As one of the early Business Development Representatives, you'll be on the forefront of driving Pensero's growth by generating new business opportunities through strategic outreach and engagement. This role is for someone who is hyper-focused on delivering results and understands that this often requires constant, independent process innovation.
You'll help us identify and engage with technology leaders across the U.S. and Europe—people who shape how modern engineering organizations operate.
You'll work closely with the founders and GTM team, test messaging, and refine the outbound motion. This is an ideal role for someone who wants to grow fast in a startup that values autonomy, craft, and continuous learning. Within a small team like ours, every contribution you make has a direct impact on the company's growth trajectory.
You’ll work with a modern GTM stack—HubSpot, Salesloft / Apollo, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Notion, and Gong—plus the autonomy to test new tools and tactics.
We work hybrid: three days in our office and two days remote for deep work and outreach focus.
What you'll do
Lead Generation:
Meeting and exceeding individual and team targets with discipline and creativity.
Researching and mapping high-potential target accounts within our ICP (CTOs, VPs of Engineering, Heads of Product).
Executing highly personalized outbound campaigns via email, LinkedIn, and phone.
Following up on inbound leads from marketing and events.
Understanding prospect pain points around visibility, performance, and productivity—and articulating how Pensero addresses them.
Pipeline Management:
Accountable for real pipeline creation, not activity. Must generate qualified opportunities that convert, with clear metrics around pipeline value created, opportunity acceptance rate, and influenced revenue.
Keeping detailed, clean CRM records and managing your pipeline with precision.
Collaboration:
Collaborating with Marketing, Customer Success, Account Executives and Founders to refine outreach playbooks.
Contributing to the energy and culture of our NYC incipient workspace.
You'll love it here if you…
Experience: Previously a top performing BDR and/or AE at a high velocity startup with 1-2 years of experience.
Agency: Are a self-starter who enjoys autonomy and thrives in a fast-changing environment.
Excellent Communicator: Communicate clearly and think critically—you understand people and can tailor your message.
Outcome focused: Are data-minded and motivated by measurable progress.
Attitude: Take pride in your craft and care about the details.
Slope: Want to grow into an AE or Account Manager role over time.
This role might not be your sweet spot if…
You like working from a fixed checklist more than charting your own path.
You’re happiest when things stay the same week to week.
You’d rather stay in your comfort zone than experiment and learn on the fly.
Picking up new skills or tools regularly feels more like a chore than an opportunity.
You struggle to let go of a project until it’s absolutely flawless.
Bonus points for…
While not required, you’ll stand out if you:
Hold a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or have a deep understanding of how software organizations operate.
Have started your own project or business — we love entrepreneurial spirit and bias for action.
Are fluent in AI and LLM tools (ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, etc.) and use them to work smarter.
Bring familiarity with modern developer tools (GitHub, Jira, Linear, or similar).
Have experience working with or selling to technical teams or engineering leadership.
Are naturally curious about how great products and teams are built.
- Hybrid rhythm: Tuesdays & Thursdays on-site in our offices, other days from home. It’s the best of both worlds: deep focus time plus high-value in-person collaboration.
- Small, senior, sharp: Fewer than 10 engineers, all senior. You’ll work directly with our co-CEOs and skip the bureaucracy.
- Product-led & feedback-rich: We build fast, make decisions on data and user impact, and give feedback the way we’d want to receive it: clear, objective, and aimed at making the work better.
