About the Slack integration
Connect your organizations Slack with Pensero and learn insights about the collaborative work that's happening within your selected team channels. We suggest connecting Pensero to channels like engineering, team, or project-specific channels.
Admins can add the Pensero Bot to their Slack workspaces by following the instructions in the step-by-step section found below.
You will need to be an organization admin to be able to connect the Slack integration and it is the administrators responsibility to notify all channel members that relevant messages connected with work (like tickets, Pull Requests etc) will be shared with Pensero.

What does Pensero read from Slack
Pensero only analyzes messages or threads from channels where the Bot has been invited. To ensure privacy, Pensero focuses solely on discussions that involve technical topics. A technical conversation is defined as messages or threads that include a link related to tickets, pull requests, or documents within these channels.
What parameters does Pensero calculate or derive from?
Pensero assesses the quality of interactions to estimate individuals communication skills and the impact on team productivity.
Pensero’s Usage of Content from Slack Channels
Pensero will collect messages from the channels in which it is invited and extract key data signals. Pensero analyzes work-related messages in the Slack channels where it’s been invited. It only reads messages that include links to pull requests, tickets, or technical documents — for example, a GitHub PR or Jira issue. Private DMs and channels where the Pensero’s app for Slack hasn’t been added are never accessed.
Data that is submitted and processed will be kept encrypted and managed according to SOC 2 guidelines for data disposal, ensuring the highest standards of data protection and integrity.
Pensero integrates generative AI technologies that may produce inaccurate responses. Please use discretion when interpreting AI-generated content. While the Pensero leverages large language models (LLMs) to enhance user interaction, Pensero never uses Slack user data to train, fine-tune, or improve any AI systems. User data is processed solely to analyze productivity related to communication patterns and is not stored or retained beyond that purpose.
Daily Digest via Slack
Once connected, Pensero will deliver a private daily summary message every morning via Slack.
For managers, this digest includes your team’s total contribution score, a list of merged and reviewed PRs, created documents, and a per-person breakdown of activity.
For individual contributors, the digest summarizes your own work: total score, merged/reviewed PRs, created docs, and your top contributions by impact.
This message is only visible to you and helps bring instant visibility into what got done—no prep or digging required.
Connecting the Pensero Slack Integration
If you want to connect a new workspace, install the Pensero’s app for Slack. If you have already connected and only want to add Pensero to a new channel, you can directly invite it to the channel.
